Sheldon Hewlett is a Continuing Track Associate Professor in the Department of Material Science and Engineering. He has a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering from MIT, and an M.S. in Material Science and Engineering from Northwestern University. He received his doctorate in the Science of Advanced Materials from Central Michigan University, where he investigated solution-processed gold disordered metamaterials with high (> 90%) broadband optical absorption. Currently his primary focus is teaching, recruiting, and developing curricula for the new undergraduate MSEG major beginning fall of 2019.
