The main area Dr. Shah`s research is "Low Dimensional Materials". In this experimental research Dr. Shah`s group designs materials and structures useful for applications in magnetics, optoelectronics, and environment. A large effort of Dr. Shah`s research focuses on photovoltaics, including organic solar cell materials and devices, inorganic materials like CIGS, ZnO, etc., where the focus is to synthesize these materials via environmentally green chemical processes. The magnetism research is focused on the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles via inert gas condensation, sol-gel, and laser ablation and study of the magnetic behavior of these nanostructures. The research in materials for environmental applications spreads over photocatalysis, nanocomposite membranes, water condensation, all based on nanostructured ceramics.
